Guido Ponzini and Diletta Canepari will present the artistical performance “Trinity” and the tWeirdos’ exibithion that will take place at T-Palazzo, Parma,18/20 – 12 – 2010, merging body art, live performances, contemporary art. Live performance: Saturday 18th December, 21:12 at T-Palazzo, Strada Duomo 7, Parma (Italy).

Sounds like Lomo

Guido Ponzini created the sound-design for the new official Lomography event. Using the mechanical sounds of the Lomography photo cameras, merged with acoustic instruments (viola da gamba, doublebass) and objects, “Sounds like Lomo” is a musical travel through the world of Lomo photography. The event, “Garibaldi full of grace – 9 volte in viaggio con Diana”, will feature the exhibition with Lomo Wall, “Sounds Like Lomo” and a special photo contest.  The event will take place at T- Palazzo, Piazza Duomo, Parma, 9/21/2010 – 9/28/2010, with a special evening on Friday 9/24/2010. LomoShop by ArtImmagine (Francesca Battilani)

“Plugin Contemporary Music / Ponzini plays Uematsu” released!

“Plugin Contemporary Music and Ponzini Plays Uematsu” will be released by american label Porter Records on May 18th 2010. “Plugin Contemporary Music” is the first classical-contemporary concerto for chapman stick and strings ever written, composed by Guido and played with musician from Ennio Morricone’s orchestra. “Ponzini plays Uematsu” features compositions from japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu, played by Guido on viola da gamba and fretless bass. You can find the cd in local stores, online webshops and digital delivery services (iTunes, etc…).

MMI Bass Lab powered by IK Multimedia

On April 24th 2010, at Modern Music Institute in Parma, will debut the new MMI Bass Lab. Conceived by Guido, MMI Bass Lab is a clinic on rhythmical aspects in bass-guitar technique, featuring an interactive 8 hours lesson in which each student will play and learn. MMI Bass Lab is officially powered by IK Multimedia products, with new Stealth Pedalboard systems, AmpliTube 3, Ampeg SVX and AmpliTube Fender.

“Plugin Contemporary Music” release on May 2010

“Plugin Contemporary Music” is coming out!

The american label Porter Records will release the cd on May 18th 2010. The cd is the first classical-contemporary concerto for strings quartet and chapman stick ever written, composed by Guido Ponzini and played with musicians from Ennio Morricone’s orchestra (Roma Sinfonietta). The cd will also feature “Ponzini plays Uematsu”, 6 pieces of the famous japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu played by Guido with Viola da Gamba.

Nomination at JustPlain Music Awards 2009

Guido Ponzini’s composition for solo chapman stick, “Rainstorm Upon the harbour”, from his solo debut “Twilight Town”, has been nominated at Just Plain Music Awards 2009 in the category “Best Solo Instrumental Song”.

The awards show this year will take place in Nashville, TN, USA  on August 29th.

Wii Music Live at Auditorium Paganini (Pr – It)

Guido Ponzini presented live on 19-02 in Parma (Auditorium Paganini), Italy, for the first time worldwide a project in collaboration with Nintendo where he played music created by non-musicians via the software Wii Music for Nintendo Wii, together with some compositions of his upcoming release “Plugin contemporary music”.
